National Prevention Town Hall Breakout Session 2C: Addressing Wage Equity & Economic Justice at All Levels of Our Movement In September 2020, the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence held its first National Prevention Town Hall. In this breakout session, VAWnet.org

Black women working full-time are paid 63 cents for every $1 paid to White, non-Hispanic men. As a result of this discrepancy, #BlackWomensEqualPay Day—which marks the day that symbolizes how long into 2021 Black women must work to make what men were paid in 2020—does not occur until today. This disparity annually costs Black women $24,110 on average, equaling $964,400 over the course of a 40-year career. Unacceptable. Economic justice is a survivor justice issue. Have questions?
