  1. college student here, what is the difference between registering to vote in a different district of your home state and filling out an absentee form to vote in that area? are there any pros to doing one or the other?

    plannedparenthood:

An absentee ballot allows your voice to be heard when you’re temporarily living or visiting somewhere and can’t be there on Election Day. It’s an important way to make sure you can vote no matter where you are on Election Day. That being said, registering in the new area allows you to be more involved in the community you live in now. So as long as you’re following your state’s registration guidelines, you can register in whichever community you feel is right — your hometown or your college town. -Jack at Planned Parenthood
