To be an ally is to be constantly engaged in the discussion of issues that people of color face, but which you don’t face yourself.

Though you may not feel like the word “oppressor” describes you, you are in the position of authority, advantage, and oppression.

Therefore, as an ally it is up to you to regularly talk with white people about the unfairness, and even violence, to which this position lends itself.
